HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - March 28, 2006 - Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ: AVCT) today announced the expansion of third party manageability by its DSView ® 3 management software through an agreement with Uptime Devices. Uptime Devices is a leader in environmental monitoring and management of the data center physical environment. The agreement will allow Avocent DSView 3 software customers to remotely access and control the Uptime Devices SensorHub equipment to monitor the temperature, humidity, airflow, water, voltage, and security of their data centers. DSView 3 software will notify users when the conditions exceed defined limits and provide a way to resolve environmental problem remotely.
