Description

In April 2002, INDIVUMED GmbH, Center for Cancer Research at the Israelitisches Krankenhaus was founded in Hamburg, Germany. The founders of INDIVUMED include; Dr. Hartmut Juhl, Associate Professor of Surgery and Oncology at Georgetown University, and from the Israelitisches Krankenhaus; Dr. Carsten Zornig, Professor of Surgery and Chairman of the Department of Surgery, and Dr. Peter Layer, Professor of Internal Medicine and Chairman of the Department of Medicine. Together Drs. Juhl, Zornig and Layer direct the research activities of INDIVUMED and the Israelitisches Krankenhaus, creating a unique center for cancer research. The lead investor is Bioagency AG, an investment firm that specializes in the funding of innovative biotechnology companies. Two private investors joined INDIVUMED in the summer of 2003 accomplishing a sound second financing round. In October 2003 INDIVUMED moved into its New Research Building located in the heart of Hamburg's prospering life science region...
