This acquisition creates the opportunity to use the synergy of the two organizations to provide services to clients of CTL and ICS. CTL Engineering is a full-service consulting engineering, testing, inspection and analytical services company, while ICS specializes in audio-visual and security solutions and professional customer support.

In 1948, Industrial Communication and Sound, Inc. (ICS) began as full service, electronic systems contractor serving Greater Cincinnati and Tri state. Ed Dean founded and operated ICS. This time was the infancy of the audio and security contracting business. Ed operated the business until 1971. With the loss of its orginial owner and founder, ICS faced difficult times. Thomas Volz, project manager and lead technician, was passionate about the business and purchased the company.
