The first customers of Benchmark that will be included in the Web*VMI program are Schlumberger, BJ Services and Halliburton, all of whom are providing critical products and services to oil producers.

Web*VMI is a cloud service for inbound and outbound VMI of bulk and packaged chemicals. We provide turn-key solutions including level equipment, communications and web-based services. With Web*VMI, users can monitor inventory, estimate usage, reconcile deliveries, set electronic alerts and place orders to the ERP system via a secure web site as part of an automated supply chain.

For many of our customers, bulk inventory represents only a portion of the total product they have stored at their customer facilities. Often product is stored in drums, totes, bags, cylinders and the like. Sometimes these storage containers themselves are valuable and needed to be tracked independent of the contents. Sometimes there are cross-contamination concerns that need to be monitored; sometimes there are inspection schedules that need to be respected; and more often these days there are security concerns that mean all product should be accounted for.

This project will provide Duke with a robust real-time emergency preparedness monitoring and communication architecture to replace aging systems that had been in service for over 20 years. The architected solution will be used by all functional areas of Duke’s emergency response organizations as well a local, state, and federal agencies to address all emergency situations at these plants.

When Mannington started to look around for a supplier, they contacted companies ranging from telemetry suppliers, through very large instrumentation manufacturers and specialized software companies. Eventually, Industrial Evolution’s emphasis on reliably providing good quality data won over – it is not the equipment that matters, but rather it is the way the equipment is specified, installed and supported together with the software that manages communications and data presentation that are key.
