Ink2image (a division of CIS Systems Inc) was founded in 2005 to primarily develop and manufacture bulk ink delivery systems for inkjet printers. The company quickly grew to become a major supplier of CIS (Continuous Ink Supply) systems and, in the summer of 2006, was appointed as the exclusive master distributor of Lyson photographic and fine Art inkjet products in North America. In early 2009, Ink2image acquired the Inkjet division of Media Street, and is now the exclusive source for the renowned Generations and Plug-N-Play inkjet inks, media, and bulk ink devices. These are products are now all sold under the 'Media Street by Ink2image' brand. Headquartered 15 miles North West of Chicago in Glenview, Illinois, the company’s main activity is to market, distribute and support it's range of photographic and fine art inkjet products through it's web sites and a team of regionally based dealers and re-sellers through out the USA, Canada and Mexico. The dedicated Ink2image team, headed up by founder and President, Tony Martin, all have many years background in inkjet printing and have a knowledge and experience of inkjet products second to none.

Lyson was formed in 1988 by three like minded entrepreneurs to develop and manufacture inkjet inks for the industrial and graphics printing industries. The company rapidly grew throughout the 90’s to become the largest independent manufacturer of inkjet inks in the World. Working with OEM’s and it’s own team of distributors, the Lyson inks range grew to include products for the industrial coding, photographic and fine art, textile, and wide and grand format printing industries. Lyson was acquired in early 2006 by the largest manufacturer of screen printing inks in the USA, the Nazdar Company of Shawnee, Kansas, and is now a key element in the Worldwide Nazdar ink manufacturing and development organization. “The coming together of the Nazdar and Lyson chemists and technicians has created, I believe, a research and development team second to none” states Tony Martin” The future for Lyson photographic and fine art products looks very bright indeed”.

An ICC profile is a small file that lives in the color folder on your computer and is used to ensure that the printer and ink you are using provides the correct colors on the media you want to print on. Every printer/ink/media combination requires its own color profile if you are going to achieve accurate color. If you have been using inkjet to print you photos but are new to using profiles then you may be surprised to learn that you have already been using them! When you make a print and go to your printer’s driver software and select a paper type, you are in fact selecting a color profile that is embedded in the printer software. We provide free ICC color profiles for Lyson inks on our media range as well as the common types of printer manufacturer’s papers to help you get color accuracy. These profiles are easy to install and are used when printing from Photoshop or can be associated with the printer driver software for printing from other programs. You may have also heard of the terms ‘canned’ and ‘custom’ profiles. Basically, a profile is made by printing a special color chart using the printer/ink/media combination.

Tony Martin has over twenty years working experience in the inkjet industry. Formally trained as an electro-mechanical engineer and sales and marketing professional, Tony joined Lyson in 1995 as sales and marketing director based at the original company head office in Stockport, UK. He was the primary force in taking the company into the then fledgling photographic inkjet market, and was actively involved in developing many of the products that make up the Lyson photographic and Fine Art portfolio today. Tony moved to the USA in 2001 to head up the Lyson manufacturing and sales facility in Chicago. “I have had a serious interest in photography since I was a young child” comments Tony “In fact; my first job out of school was with a commercial studio where I learned darkroom techniques. I am delighted that with the appointment of Ink2image as the master distributor in North America, I can now focus my energies full time on the photographic industry. We have a great team here at Ink2image and our aim is to build the company into the primary resource for photographic and fine art inkjet users”.
