Instant Background Checks

When most people think of a background check they think of a simple criminal history check. In reality, a background check is much more than that. In layman’s terms (for hiring purposes), a background check screens an individual on a number of levels to assess whether the individual can do the job and is unlikely to do harm to anyone or anything. For other purposes, such as insurance, the check assesses whether the individual is a good candidate to be insured. A background check helps your company stay safe through the criminal history check.

You acknowledge that, when we provide you information based on a third party’s records (including court, credit, criminal, driving, educational, and employment records), we are only saying that the third party’s records had that information at the time we retrieved those records. We are not saying that the information in those records is true. For example, court records can be incorrect. You acknowledge that, when we provide you information based on our interview of a third party (including reference checks), we are only saying that the third party told us the information we provide you.

But in addition, we strive to acquire and update our database with as many county and municipal court records as possible, especially in states that do not collect criminal record data at the state level. Many of database competitors offer only the 'low hanging fruit' and/or out-dated flat files of information. We have an entire team dedicated to uncovering new county, state, Department of Corrections and security sources so you and your customers have access to one of the most comprehensive criminal database available. In the last 12 months alone we have added 100 new sources.

You agree to use security procedures sufficient to protect the confidential nature of the information that we provide you and the privacy interests that Consumers have in that information. You agree to maintain and follow a written security policy that is sufficient to comply with all laws related to the protection of personal information that we provide you. You agree to restrict the ability to order or access Reports to those of your personnel who need to know the information contained in them.

This Section 2.5 applies if you register with us under a VendorSafe program. Another organization sponsors the program to provide that organization with assurance about the quality of the background check that you are performing. We identify the sponsor to you on a custom landing page or during the registration process. You acknowledge that you know the identity of the sponsor. You confirm that you are (or are trying to become) a vendor to the sponsor.
