InStock Retail Services, Inc. was founded by Marvin K. Blair in July 2004, after a 12 year career with a Fortune 50 company concluding with a 5 year period as Merchandise Director in the Live Nursery Division. Marvin identified several common shortfalls of the vendors from whom he purchased products. These shortfalls caused the companies affected to miss many of the sales opportunities within the mass retailers they shipped to. In the worst cases, this resulted in the complete loss of vendor status and all business opportunities. With this situation as the backdrop, our team began developing a group of services that could be offered to suppliers of products to the mass retailer that would compliment their own employee base and respective skill sets. Key areas of focus initially included inventory replenishment, production forecasting and logistics analysis. Line review participation, program development, marketing and complete retail account management were quickly added to the services that were being provided. We quickly gained many new customers, which required additional personnel. Great care was taken to recruit and hire key industry personnel that could bring their unique skill sets into play for each of our customers. This goal of adding quality people to our staff continues today and has resulted in a team unique to our industry.
