The Insurance Automation Group develops software solutions that help insurance agencies and Plans build their businesses and capture more revenue without adding staff. The product line includes iAutomate: Erlon Surety, iAutomate: ABTS Benefits, iAutomate: OPL CaseManager and iAutomate: ARRS CaseManager. The Insurance Automation Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of Workgroup Technology Partners, a provider of advanced technology solutions and services based in Westbrook, Maine. Founded in 1994, Workgroup started developing custom software solutions for the insurance industry in 1997, when it was engaged by a healthcare insurer to create software to improve and automate its Other Party Liability (OPL) business process. Workgroup formed a subsidiary called Sextant HealthCost Solutions to develop other complementary healthcare insurance automation software. In 2000, a new division within Workgroup developed a product for insurance agencies that sell construction surety bonds. This product, called Erlon, quickly became the industry standard for automating the complex surety bond process, and has been designated as an Approved Vendor for eBonding by the NASBP/SAA, is an Applied ConneXion Integrating Vendor, and an ACORD Solution Provider.
