Insurance Consultants of Alaska has been bringing CE classes to cities in Alaska since 2003. Scheduled Classes Sitka: Two four hour CE seminars on November 10, 2009. Four hours on Employment Practices Liability and four hours on the ISO HO3 and Personal Umbrella Policy. We will also conduct a 3 hour Ethics class on November 11, 2009. Juneau: Two four hour CE seminars on November 12, 2009. We will do the EPL and the HO3/PUP just as we are doing in Sitka on the 10th of November. We will also do a 3 hour ethics course on Friday, November 13, 2009 from 9 to Noon at the New York Life Insurance office. This class is open to other licensed producers as well. Anchorage: Ethics class on April 22, 2009 at the BP Energy Center from 9:00am to noon for 3 hours of CE credit. This is a three hour CE course that qualifies for the new Division of Insurance Ethics requirement effective on renewals after January 1, 2009. Kenai: November 5, 2009 at the Kenitze Building at 150 N Willow Street in Kenai, Alaska 8:00am to 12:00pm on Employment Practices Liability for 4 hours of Continuing Education credit. Kenai: November 5, 2009 1:00pm to 5:00pm Personal Liabiltiy Policy and marketing for 4 hours of Continuing Education credit. In addition to teaching two four hour CE classes in beautiful Juneau and Ketchikan, Margaret took the opportunity to visit the good folks at the Division of Insurance. She also attended a couple of committee meetings of the Alaska State Legislature. It was very informative and interesting. Margaret has taken her 3 hour Ethics class across the state with the help of the Alaska Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers Association. She went to Wasilla, Fairbanks, Juneau and Ketchikan. Next fall she plans to go to Sitka and Petersburg as well. Very favorable response has been given regarding the class. The resounding cry has been that doing the Ethics class online is so boring, but Margaret makes learning Ethics fun! We have put together a 3 hour CE class on Ethics to meet the requirements of the Division of Insurance. If you haven't heard yet, the Division is requiring all licensees to have 3 hours of their 24 hours of required CE to be in Ethics. This requirement affects all renewals after January 2009.
