Description

As an anthropology major, I’ve always been fascinated by how the progression of culture has often been contingent upon technological advancements. Computer technology is the bellwether of cultural progression, the end result of which is a more well-connected and technologically au courant global population. Having worked in the field of customer service for almost 9 years, I thoroughly enjoy working with people in hopes of providing them with world-class service that surpasses their expectations.

I’ve began working as an accounting and administration professional in 1998 after taking online courses through the University of Phoenix. I enjoy getting to know our customers and like the fact that our company is able to provide money saving solutions for their businesses. Working at Intech has allowed me to do what I am best at but also learn more about the rapidly changing technology industry.

About HTLA: The Hawai‘i Lodging & Tourism Association is a non-profit, statewide trade organization of lodging properties, lodging owners and management firms, suppliers, and related firms and individuals. It was founded in 1947, with an original membership of 16 hotels, to represent the interests of Hawaii’s lodging industry. Today, the HLTA includes 156 lodging properties representing 48,000 rooms and more than 400 members in other membership categories. The association’s mission is to provide advocacy and education for the hospitality industry.

Technology is essential to the ever-changing world. However, the human component of technological advances is also ever-increasing and extremely necessary. I firmly believe that people have an important place in the technological world. I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2011 with a BA in Psychology and a minor in sociology. Discovering the “how” and “why” people think played a huge role in going into customer service.

I majored in Management Information Systems and minored in Computer Science at Eastern Washington University in Washington state. I started programming my first personal computer in 1981 and what started as a hobby turned into a college major, and then eventually a career. In the late 80?s and early 90?s I worked as an IT Director, managing networks for Hyatt Hotels where I was involved in building one of the first IP WANs between the 5 Hawaii Hyatt hotels.
