Todd K. Onstott approached Darren Huddleston in early 1994 with the idea of starting a business together. After investigating several business ideas, they discovered an ad for IntelliHome in Austin, Texas. IntelliHome was offering dealerships in the 2 billion-dollar home automation business. Darren and Todd toured their facility; saw their demonstration room; evaluated their products. With that limited exposure to home automation, they returned home and began an exhaustive investigation focusing on the home automation business.
