While we provide services throughout California, we are proud to be a part of Interface and to serve our home community of Ventura County. In addition, Interface's Center for Community Development is part of Strategies, a statewide alliance of three training and technical assistance programs that serve the public and non-profit sectors.

Established in 1973, Interface Children & Family Services began as a collaboration between educators, law enforcement, the Council of Churches, and parents in response to the needs of youth and families struggling to manage crises created by substance abuse. We have always focused on strengthening children and their families. Today, we address the multifaceted needs of families through our core program areas: mental health, youth and family strengthening, family violence intervention, 2-1-1 information and referral, training and technical assistance.

The Drug Court program is an intense year-long minimum program which includes regular court visits, drug and alcohol counseling, collaboration with Youth Advocates, regular drug-testing and supervision by probation as well as mental health services provided by Interface to address underlying and co-morbid mental health issues. Since 2009, Interface Children & Family Services has been providing mental health services to these youth through the Reclaiming Futures grant.

Our vision is a world in which children are cherished, families are strong and engaged in their communities and communities thrive. We work towards this vision by building the ability of community-based organizations, networks, partnerships and public agencies to work effectively and compassionately with and for children and families. We provide lively and informative trainings, expert facilitation, individualized technical assistance, strategic planning and the practical application of research and best practices to community-based organizations and public agencies.

Our multi-faceted approach allows us to address the complex issues of family violence, which can include child abuse, dating violence, and domestic violence, by providing safe and supportive services to victims while simultaneously encouraging abuser accountability and preventing the future perpetration of family violence.
