Description

At the onset of the design process, Interior Office Systems's staff designers - each of whom is affiliated either with ASID or IBD or have met the requirements of NCIDQ - review the scope of the project, determining the schedule and identifying the budget requirements. Client and designers together evaluate existing furnishings, equipment & facilities to identify the client preferences and objectives. The use of computer-aided design ("CAD") services provides a high production level within relatively short time frames. A "programming" service, wherein the optimum space utilization for each individual and department can be determined, is offered. The current and projected employee work areas are identified in order to define the most efficient work environment while minimizing the square footage needs. In the evaluation of each person and department, the flow of verbal and hard copy communication is carefully examined to clearly identify the strongest and most frequent communication patterns. Equipment and related power requirements for both individuals and departments are identified. A graphic plan showing wall and door locations, room sizes and furniture layouts is produced. Further consultations with the Client produce further refinements to this plan. When the final design criteria are established, a schematic design is developed - including floor plans, design concepts and approved furnishings as well as finish selections. All decisions made during the planing process are reflected in the schematic. The ability to manage personnel and facility costs is critical to the success of today's business organization.
