In 1991, American Campus Company (ACC), a college marketing firm founded by Mark Robinholt, began selling National Internships guides via postering flyers for 'The Insider's Guide to Washington DC Internships'. The list of guides expanded to over 18 regional and topical guides as a low-cost alternative to the large national internship publications. In 1996, ACC bought the domain name Internships.org to offer publications for sale on the internet, as an alternative to the traditional mail-order method. In 2000, American Campus Company bought the rights to the National Internships guides and set up Internships LLC to operate separately from ACC. At present, we are launching our internship listings online, while still offering our more-comprehensive, popular hard-copy guides to students for sale, and our new nationwide National Internships Guide 2003 (ISBN 0-9726288-0-0) recommended for Career Placement Centers and libraries.
