About Us Inventions-Plus, Incorporated was founded by Dr. Maurice Karkar to generate patents and products in both medical and commercial fields. Dr. Maurice Karkar received a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Master and a Doctorate degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a prominent researcher with over 20 years experience in high technology development and with several patents in the development of medical as well as commercial devices. He worked with American Hospital Supply and Baxter Healthcare Corporation for over 10 years as a project and section manager. He is Co-Founder of Cardiovascular Devices, Incorporated, a start-up company that sold to 3M for over 100 million dollars. In 1992 Dr. Karkar and his partner Jim Velnosky assigned a patent on a Blood Analyzer Apparatus to US Alcohol Testing of America. The patent assignment was intrumental in allowing the company to raise 7.5 million dollars from an initial public offering (IPO). Dr. Karkar and Jim Velnosky received over $200,000 in return for this assignment. Two of Dr. Karkar's inventions are the solar-powered address signs and a multipurpose microdermabrasion Handpiece.
