Description

Al Fering is President of Iowa Career Connection, LLC. His career includes 20 years in corporate human resources management (from internal recruiter to VP, Human Resources and Administration with major insurance companies) prior to founding Iowa Career Connection in January, 2000. He achieved designations of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Fellow Life Management Institute (FLMI). He completed the Executive Development Program through the Life Office Management Association and is certified in Behavioral Interviewing and Mediating Employee Relations Disputes. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of St. Olaf College, a veteran of the US Army and has lived in Des Moines since 1975. He has been married to Martha for 37 years and has two children, Chris and Erica. Chris is a sales manager in Seattle, WA and Erica attends the University of Iowa in Iowa City.
