Description
Established in 1973 as a gymnastics school the Iowa Gym-Nest has become a full service sports facility for gymnastics, Taekwon-Do, power tumbling and cheerleading. Our gymnastics programs begin with children 12 months of age and include programs for all ability levels, from those who need special help to those with exceptional ability. Our Taekwon-Do, power tumbling and cheerleading programs have programs for children ages 5 and older. We are Iowa's largest gymnastics school with over fourteen hundred students in two locations that total over 23,000 square feet. Both locations offer state of the art equipment including in-ground trampolines and landing pits for safe learning. Our preschool feature specialized equipment for smaller children. The martial arts room located at our Coralville location features wall-to-wall matting, full length mirrors and is air-conditioned. Jim and Jill Schlott have owned the Iowa Gym-Nest since 1981. Both competed in gymnastics and graduated from the University of Iowa. Jill has degrees in both elementary and special education. Iowa Gym-Nest team members have won numerous state, regional and national titles and have qualified to national championship competitions annually since 1976. Jim, Jill and the coaching staff of the Iowa Gym-Nest have all received numerous coaching awards and have served as state, regional and/or national clinicians.
