Description

This 65 hour course is designed to prepare persons who are working as Nurse Aides with the knowledge and skills to safely and effectively provide rehabilitative/restorative therapies under the direction of a physical therapist or occupational therapist. The Certified Nurse Aide course is prerequisite to this course because the information and skills being taught are based on the basic skills acquired when providing nurse aide services.

Located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, near Omaha, Nebraska. The college was founded in 1967, and offers 84 programs in both vocational and technical areas as well as in liberal arts. It is also home to a respected flight school for various aircraft related professions. IWCC is also the site of college/alternative radio station 89.7 The River, which serves the entire Omaha metropolitan area.

A Pharmacy Technician is an individual who assists in the technical functions of the practice of pharmacy, enabling the pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to the patient. The supervising pharmacist is responsible for the actions of a pharmacy technician or other supportive personnel. Classes meet twice a week from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Lecture and lab prepare the student for the practical experience of the externship. Externship: (45 Hours) Students complete a 45 hour externship in a retail setting. Students attend Monday thru Friday.
