ISBER's next international meeting will take place in Asia Pacific (Singapore) in 2007. Improved efficiency of repositories in the Asia Pacific region would benefit research in the biomedical sciences, as well as research on biodiversity and species-extinction in areas rich in biodiversity, such as Indonesia, China, and Australia. The Asia Pacific Meeting would provide ISBER members new opportunities to network with their colleagues across the globe, and develop new business contacts in the region. Robert E. Hewitt, National University of Singapore (ISBER Non-US Councilor) will organize the Singapore meeting, which is scheduled for Wednesday 30th May to Saturday 2nd June 2007. The meeting theme will be: "International Biobanking Standards" (Ethical standards, Data standards, ISBER Best Practice Standards).
