Description

The Mechling family took over ISDC from the former owner Bryan Asch in 1993. The school's name was an alternate name used by the Villari system. We like it because it reflects the various international forms of self defense taught at the center. We have continuously represented the Villari System since 1985. Some of the martial arts styles included in the training are Shaolin Kempo Karate, Jiu Jitsu, Chin Na, Wrestling, Cheng Man Ching Style Tai Chi Chuan, Muay Thai Kickboxing, softJUDO, Aikido, and Meditation. Students come from all over San Diego to learn these traditional forms of self-defense. The teachers are dedicated to preserving, and passing on to students, the quality and integrity of the martial arts. The facility is located in North County San Diego in the City of Poway. The student body is varied; with the majority of students being adults. This is in part because many adults have seen the efficacy of training in several different martial arts. Many black belts and advanced students have joined ISDC over the years because of the teaching and training methods. The center maintains a high standard for rank promotion. The school has attracted many students with advanced ranking in arts such as Tae Kwon Do, Ju Jitsu, Kempo, Karate, Chinese Arts, Tang Soo Do, Shotokan and numerous others.
