Islander Reels has been manufacturing precision Center Pin, Fly and Mooching reels for over 20 years. Islander is a division of J.S. Foster Corporation in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. J.S. Foster Corporation is a precision production machine shop, using modern C.N.C. lathes and machining centers and employs over 50 people involved in various capacities of the operation of the company. J.S. Foster was started by Joseph Foster over 40 years ago and continues to be a family owned and operated business. Through a close working relationship with J.S.
Salmon and halibut fishing will stress any tackle to its absolute limit but the MR2 was built for it. The design of the MR2 incorporates rugged tolerances making it durable and robust. The internal and external components are constructed of materials that will last in a saltwater environment, allowing the MR2 to be a reel for EVERY season. Some of our customers have had their reels in service for over 15 years!
