Description
With headquarters in St. Louis, ISTO Technologies is an orthobiologics company focused on developing breakthrough biologic products for orthopedic and spinal applications. While other biologic companies are exploring various technologies, ISTO is the only company with a patented juvenile cell technology that has proved to be more effective than adult cells in regenerating cartilage tissue. ISTO's versatile cell expansion platform allows for commercial scalability and, ultimately, broad clinical applications.
ISTO is a privately-held regenerative medicine company developing novel products for the repair and regeneration of damaged or injured cartilage and bone. We are developing unique orthobiologic products designed to provide off-the-shelf and cost effective long term regenerative treatment solutions for damaged cartilage through a proprietary allogeneic juvenile chondrocyte platform technology.
Alafi Capital is a private venture capital firm that has been active in healthcare investing for over 25 years. Early and mid-stage investments in the U.S. and Europe are considered, with emphasis on product-oriented biotechnology, life science technologies, imaging and diagnostics, and medical devices.
The OIG Guidance identifies several key risk areas for pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers and called on companies to develop compliance policies in these risk areas. These risk areas are: (1) data integrity pertaining to government reimbursement practices; (2) kickbacks and other illegal remuneration; and (3) compliance with laws regulating sampling activities. To the extent applicable to ISTO, we have established policies that address these areas.
ISTO is committed to establishing and maintaining an effective compliance program that accords with the Compliance Program Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers issued by the Office of Inspector General (“OIG”) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (the "OIG Guidance") and the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America voluntary Code of Interactions with Health Care Professionals (the "PhRMA Code"). The purposes of our compliance program are to prevent, detect and respond to violations of laws, regulations and ISTO policy and to promote a culture of compliance.
