Winkler Woods LLC was formed in 2001 by the fourth generation wood-industry leader Jorma Winkler to supply Hawaiian Exotic Woods to customers worldwide, both in lumber and veneer form. The Winklers have been a major distributor of Hawai'ian Hardwoods in Hawai'i for the past few decades. We specialize in supplying your unique wholesale Hawaiian Hardwood needs particularly for the musical instrument market for ukuleles and guitars.

The Winklers have been a major distributor of Hawai'ian Hardwoods in Hawai'i for the past few decades. We specialize in supplying your unique Koa, Mango, and Ohia Hawaiian Hardwood needs.

Koa for the instrument world is our specialty. We sell both lumber and sets of all grades and have satisfied customers worldwide. Despite the rumors, koa is NOT running out, but rather what is allowed to be cut is very limited therefore so is the supply and high prices.

The solid picture frame molding market has changed over the years. Koa wood is more expensive and harder to get, expecially lengths 5’ and over. Most of the trees being harvested are salvaged dead, dying and fallen trees which means a lot of shorter, ablbeit useable, material. Your best bet for a consistent supply is to make use of the entire range of sizes, buy in volume, and match yourself. Although we do produce lengths 5’ and over, the majority of our product will be under 5’. This is to maximize the use of our precious resource.

First and foremost we are predominately a WHOLESALE supplier of KOA dealing in large volumes. Although we do have a store in HONOLULU please call for an appointment, and if we can help you we will gladly do so. We do not stock a large volume on-site in Honolulu, but rather mostly take larger orders for green or dry lumber which is prepared at our millsite on the Big Island. Mostly our stock in Honolulu consists of instrument grade lumber and sets for guitar and ukulele makers. We do all of our resawing in Honolulu.
