J. B. Trimble, Inc. (JBT) was founded in 1968 by James B. Trimble, a 1954 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Trimble served two years of active duty as a Lieutenant in the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1955-1957 and worked for several well-established consulting firms prior to starting the firm.The firm initially focused on strictly structural design including bridges, schools, commercial and industrial facilities, tunnels, buildings, tall steel stacks, communication towers, water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, rustic camp facilities, retaining walls, and construction shoring.In June of 1997, the firm began an expansion into the transportation engineering market that continues to this day. The expansion was fueled by the addition of a number of experienced roadway and hydraulic design professionals.
