Description
Who We Are... The Jacksonville Academy of Electrical Technology (JAET) began in the early 1940's as an apprenticeship training facility to provide quality electricians for Jacksonville's First Coast. Graduating students proved their competencies by meeting licensing requirements and were, thus, capable of providing not only quality work, but work that was safe and state of the art. Because our region experienced a boom in construction and growth, these two issues became extremely important. That remains true today! See our staff What We Do... JAET students work full time for one of our local electrical contractors and enjoy an amazing benefits package of retirement and health care, including dental and vision. They attend classes two evenings per week to receive first-class training that prepares them to earn the prestigious journeyman's license. Students of JAET are not only the finest trained, highest quality electricians, but they have the energy and determination that will make them valuable employees. Where else can you receive a tuition-free education while employed in a challenging field that will allow you to experience the exciting growth of our nation? Upon completion of the JAET apprenticeship program, our students have ensured their financial stability for the duration of an exciting career. At graduation, JAET courses may translate into college credit towards an associates degree. Our Mission ... To provide leading-edge, quality training in an atmosphere that fosters dignity for our students and to manage our academies with competence and vigilance in order to maintain a contributing presence in our communities.
