Four generations of my family have owned funeral homes, so the tradition of serving is deeply rooted. My familys philosophy of service is simple: PERSONAL SERVICE. Jessen Funeral Homes are designed with a homelike atmosphere to reflect our commitment to personal service. Upon entering families are greeted by a fireplace - always lit - in the center of a spacious open living room type area. Comfortable chairs and sofas are clustered for easy conversation. An inviting kitchen area is available for families to bring refreshments or for groups to provide assistance. Large windows open the room up to a wooded landscape. There is also a special children's room with toys, television/VCR and books. This helps provide children's activities during a visitation or service. The main chapel has a private area for families which also offers a closeness for those attending the service. There is a separate entrance/exit for families covered by a canopy. We offer a full service facility, and will help you in any way you need, even providing information about cemeteries, flowers, local hotels, transportation, and any other need you might have that we do not directly provide. We provide a aftercare specialist that will meet with the families two weeks after a loss supplying various support materials. A transition library of 14 books on grief and loss is also available for lending. John Jessen has been a funeral director for many years. His wife, Suellen, manages the Franklin funeral home daily. Together, they opened this new facility in November of 1999. Their daughter, Erika, oversees the office business and their son, Zach, helps out whenever needed. John's philosophy is simple, "We want our family owned and operated funeral home to be a great asset to the community we serve". John and his family are honored to be able to serve the families of our community and surrounding area in their time of need by giving them a very personalized service.
