JMAR Overhead Door began its life in 1928 as McKee Door in Aurora, Illinois. McKee Door built its own garage doors and also offered installation and service. In later years, the company moved its door manufacturing division to Arkansas and focused on sales and service in northern Illinois.When McKee was put up for sale in 1995, Joe Peters, then a 12-year McKee Door employee who totaled 31 years in the business, decided to buy it. He and his staff have worked hard to keep the company's good reputation intact."Our good name sustained us through the hard times; we're going to keep that name strong through the good times," he says. Joe began in the overhead door business as an installer in 1967. He later worked as service manager, sales representative and manager, and has gained knowledge of all facets of the business.
