Description
We Will Listen To You "I was so nervous when I came here, because I had never sought the advice of an attorney before. So, I thought I was going to come to my first meeting and hear a bunch of mumbo jumbo and not understand anything that she was saying. And when I came in here, it was just like talking to a friend, really. The message was: 'I'm going to help you', not 'This is the law.' It felt like somebody was extending a helping hand." - Jenifer Stolz, granddaughter of Mary Shofner ATTORNEY PROFILES: Jody C. Moore, Esq. I started my own law firm several years ago after a life changing experience involving my grandmother's mismanaged medical care that lead to her untimely death. At that time it became clear to me from a family member's perspective how critical it is to have a voice when a person you love becomes unable to care for themselves and you must rely on strangers and trust they will care for your family member and treat them with dignity and respect. I attended Pepperdine University obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. I obtained my juris doctorate from Seattle University School of Law. While attending law school, I served as an Associate Editor of the Law Review and published a health care related article on Experimental Medical Treatments: Who Should Decide Coverage? 20 S.U. L. Rev. 45 (1997). Denise A. Platt, Esq. I have been a Director of Nursing in the fields of Critical Care, Medical Surgical Deparment and Skilled Nursing. Before becoming an attorney, I also worked as a legal nurse consultant for approximately 16 years. I had always aspired to the challenge of attending law school. Changes in the delivery of care, most particularly related to insurance issues inspired me to specialize in the field of elder abuse at the completion of law school. My nursing background is a natural fit in our practice. The work we do is incredibly rewarding, and allows me to continue to serve our clients, with the same dedication and passion I felt when those I served were patients. I attended the USC School of Nursing, and Santa Barbara College of Law. OUR STAFF: Our staff is trained to listen to you and to treat every client with the respect you deserve. You will not be disappointed by our empathy and our listening skills. Mike Moore, Office Manager
