Description

The university has worked with campus and local resources to combat dating violence and other forms of violence against women. The university's investment in several housing, retail and academic projects in the Historic West End is sparking a multibillion-dollar redevelopment of the area, which serves as the western entrance to Charlotte's downtown area.

Founded in 1867, Johnson C. Smith University has been ranked several times by U.S. News and World Report as one of the best comprehensive colleges in the South.
