At Joli Vin our relationships with our producers are important and our relationship with you, our clients, is equally important. We are here to help you in your quest to locate these wines or to learn more about them and the producers who made them if you desire more information than these pages provide. If you have a question regarding the wines and/or producers, we will try our best to answer. If you have a general comment we are always delighted to hear from you.

Soon afterwards the call came from the large negociant Mommessin in Beaujolais, who were then looking for a talent who could elevate the quality of their Beaujolais range and crank out some head- turning wines. Julien did just that for 5 years, sourcing the best fruit possible and working with growers in all of the 10 Cru Beaujolais villages.

Not all of the producers we work with adopt all of these practices. Each single practice represents an ideal of sorts, some more commonplace and fundamental than others, and each producer, in accord with his or her own unique situation, beliefs and realities within the context of the vintage at hand, and the flexibility they are afforded by the certification model they have chosen, will make decisions that suit them best.

After studying oenology in Beaune and Montpellier, Fabrice worked in a few Burgundy houses, spent some time at Mirimar Torres in Sonoma, and returned to France before a chance meeting with Alex Gambal, an ambitious American who in the late 1990s was setting up his micro-negociant business and was in need of a winemaker.
