JorgensenHR was started in 1984, after the highly successful Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Karen Jorgensen, the founder of JorgensenHR, managed the personnel activity for a staff of 7000 transportation employees for the games. Prior to the Olympics, she was Human Resources VP of Goldenwest Broadcasting with Gene Autry. While working for several different CEO´s during the sale of Autry´s properties to various entertainment entrepreneurs, Karen realized there was an opportunity in the marketplace for companies to receive executive-level human resources advice during times of transition. After the games, she decided to create a business, helping CEO´s with human resources issues.
