A native of Rochester, New York, I returned to the area after a 20-year sales career with Eastman Kodak Company living and working in Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Chicago.Deciding to take some time to explore other opportunities, I drove cross-country to attend January Term at Ghost Ranch in Abiquiu, New Mexico. What better place to begin my new journey.The Southwest Tradition class, Introduction to Silversmithing, proved to be a great new beginning. Wearing the jewelry I had made, people would stop and ask me where I had purchased it! I began intensive study at the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery Creative Workshop to see if I could really make jewelry. After several classes from 3 different instructors, I returned to Ghost Ranch in January 2002 to concentrate my study of inlay with jewelry artists Dale Smith and Roger Wilbur. At the conclusion of the class, both Dale and Roger encouraged me to go home and make jewelry. I designed and installed a studio and my jewelry career was launched.
