Description

Justice Resource Institute has been providing in-home and community-based services to children and families with serious emotional disturbance, medical complications, developmental disabilities, and behavioral issues for over 20 years.

Did you know there are an estimated 500,000 youth in the foster care system in the United States on any given day? We believe every young person in foster care deserves the opportunity to thrive in a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment in their community. Justice Resource Institute takes a trauma-informed approach to providing foster care in New England. Our Foster Care Division works specifically with youth who experience behavioral and emotional challenges, medical conditions, and developmental delays.

The experience of a traumatic event can significantly impact a person’s ability to function both in the immediate and long term future. This is true for both those experiencing the event, and for the responders supporting those in the event. In an effort to develop resiliency and to provide support post event, models of intervention have been developed for responders for both self care and for immediate support to those impacted by trauma. JRI utilizes the Psychological First Aid model as a method of support for the clients we serve, and for our team of dedicated staff.

Developing Abilities partners with individuals, families, and state agencies to design, develop, and implement high quality, innovative, responsive community programs and supports. We provide opportunities for adults to live on their own or in staffed homes and apartments and to grow through job training, supported employment or therapeutic day supports.
