If you would like them to stop by your place, talk to Rich Haller, Keith Paul, Gary Paul or any Gordon Volunteer Fireman. -Thursday, October 7 - Contestants are being sought for an open rodeo taking place at noon this Saturday at the 3 Moccasin Park Rodeo Arena in Pine Ridge. Prize money will be awarded but no entry fee is required. Entries will be taken tonight from 6:00 to 9:00 by calling 605-867-5224, 605-685-3763 or 605-441-1353. -Saturday, October 9 - A Rummage sale fundraiser for the Merriman Ambulance Service will be held from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM this Saturday at the Merriman Dance Hall. Call Rose Chappell for more information at 308-684-3442. -Saturday, October 9 - The Hay Springs Senior Center is hosting a dance at 7:00 this Saturday night with the music of Alan Clapp. Please, bring a finger lunch and a friend. -Monday, October 11 - A United Blood Service blood drive will be held at the Gordon United Methodist Church on Monday, October 11 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 12th from 7:00 AM to Noon and also at the Rushville American Legion on Tuesday, October 12 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Wednesday, October 13 from 7:00 AM to Noon. Photo ID is required for all donors. -Monday, October 11 - A regularly scheduled meeting of the Sheridan County 4-H Council will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, October 11th at the Extension Office in Rushville. Call 327-2312 for more information. -Wednesday, October 13 - Gordon Memorial Health Services will be providing seasonal flu shots at the Gordon Clinic on Wednesday, October 13 from 7:00 to 8:00 AM and on Thursday, October 28 from 5:30 to 6:30 PM and at the Rushville Clinic on Tuesday, October 19 from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. -Sunday, November 7 - The Sacred Heart Church in Pine Ridge will be hosting their annual Fall Bazaar on Sunday, November 7th at 2:00 PM. The Sacred Heart Church is located at the intersection of Highways 18 and 87 in Pine Ridge. -Children's Story Time is held every Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Martin City Library. -If you have a speeding ticket or other minor traffic violation, the STOP program may be the solution you are looking for. To take advantage of the STOP program in Sheridan County, individuals must register with 10 working days of receiving the ticket and complete the class within 45 days of receiving the ticket.
