Products with true value cannot be created through work in a single scientific or technical field. Therefore, we constantly seek new scientific and technical challenges and always pursue new approaches to R&D through numerous means that transcend conventional academic frameworks. Kao Group's R&D Division integrates two kinds of research: product development research, which finds practical applications for technology and designs products in line with the lifestyles of consumers and their needs; and fundamental research, which delves into various areas of advanced science and technology to deepen our knowledge of materials and scientific phenomenon. Our matrix management system fosters joint research in these two areas which sparks the creation of innovative products.
