New York, NY, June 22, 2011 – Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman LLP announced today that leading real estate attorneys Wallace L. Schwartz and Adam M. Endick have joined the firm in New York as partners to launch the firm’s transactional real estate practice. Both were formerly with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where Mr. Schwartz served as global head of Skadden’s Real Estate Group.

The attorneys in the Atlanta office have extensive experience in complex commercial, financial services, intellectual property, employment, and mass tort and product liability litigation. The Atlanta office attorneys serve as litigation counsel, including as national coordinating and trial counsel in national litigation, for major corporate clients in the petrochemical, mining, computer science, electrical, cable, internet, pharmaceutical, financial services, telecommunications, transportation and medical industries.

The primary objective of our summer program is to provide students with quality work assignments and professional experiences reflective of the depth and complexity of our practice. Summer associates learn first-hand about trying cases and drafting legal documents, motions and agreements, and are exposed to courtroom appearances, depositions and client meetings. Our program provides law students with an experience as close as possible to that of a first-year associate, as well as the opportunity to gain insight into the work and culture of the firm.

Kasowitz has extensive experience in lender liability litigation, fraudulent conveyance cases and other litigation relating to a company’s capital structure. In recent years, Kasowitz has litigated high-profile cases in this area relating to Freescale Semiconductor, Adelphia, LyondellBasell, Mirant, Tribune and numerous real estate developers.
