The story of the Kaspar companies begins in the late 1890's, when barbed wire came to Texas. When the smooth wire it replaced was discarded as worthless, August Kaspar began to make twisted wire baskets for himself and his neighbors to carry hay and corn shucks. From this humble beginning, Kaspar Wire Works was born.Almost 100 years later, the companies are still owned and managed by the Kaspar family. Today, our companies provide hundreds of products made from wire, sheetmetal, and plastics for companies and individuals all over the world. Our customers range in size from Fortune 100 corporations to one-man shows. Because many of our operations are still performed by hand, we provide old-world craftsmanship and the personal touch to even the most modern technologies. The Kaspar Company Facilities The Kaspar Companies include over 500,000 square feet of factory and production floorspace. Raw steel and wire arrive from the mills and are stored indoors in our material warehouses. Manufacturing processes are grouped according to processes and the work-flow is optimized to minimize work-in-process storage and waste. State-of-the-art equipment is used to convert raw materials into finished products for our many customers. As work requirements change, equipment and personnel are moved and reorganized to optimize resources and minimize costs.
