Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center strives to work cooperatively with the home to achieve excellence in education. Our school is dedicated to ensure that each student develops to his or her potential in order to be a productive, independent, and self-reliant member of society. Our educational program will encourage loyalty to the United States and emphasize the teaching of the American heritage and the responsibility of good citizenship.

Our mission is to provide each student with a warm and encouraging atmosphere in which they can reach their academic potential. Students are encouraged to work cooperatively and independently to solve problems and find solutions in all academic and areas.

The Kaufman Independent School District established the Kaufman ISD Scholarship Foundation in August 1999 with a gift from Bob and Marla Gail Dean to endow the Marla Gail Dean Scholarship. Returns on this investment as well as other donations since then are used by the Foundation to provide college scholarships to KISD seniors. Since only the interest income earned from donations is spent on scholarships, gifts to the foundation will continue to provide funds to Kaufman ISD graduates now and into the future.
