Description
Mission The primary mission of Kestrel Labs is the research, development, and commercialization of valuable, new, and innovative medical technologies. Strategy Kestrel Labs combines internal research and development projects with consulting and contract development of innovative, patient monitoring concepts and other medical technologies. With an extensive background in bringing concepts from the research phase through to commercialization, Kestrel Labs focuses on finding innovative medical device concepts, completing the market and product research necessary to demonstrate the product viability, and moving the product rapidly through the development phase to early market introduction. Team The founders of Kestrel Labs bring together over 30 years of innovation in the medical device industry. The team includes one of the original members of Biox, Incorporated, the company that developed the first commercially-viable pulse oximeter: Jonas A. Pologe, former Manager of Research at Datex-Ohmeda, Incorporated, who is considered one of the world ’s foremost experts on the science of pulse oximetry. Mr. Pologe has contributed to the development of over 15 medical monitors and sensors and authored over 15 patents on oximetry technology. Mr. Pologe is joined by Ted P. Delianides, Ph.D., whose extensive background in mechanical and opto-mechanical engineering includes research and technology development in pulse oximetry, blood pressure monitoring, core re-warming systems for perioperative and post-anesthesia care, and DWDM optical network components for telecommunications.
