Kidde Dual Spectrum (KDS) is the world leader in the design and manufacturing of optical infrared fire detection and suppression systems. These systems are used in military vehicles, transit vehicles, and other applications worldwide. Kidde Dual Spectrum is headquartered in Goleta, California, a suburb of Santa Barbara; approximately 100 miles north of Los Angeles. KDS became the industry leader in armored combat vehicle Automatic Fire Sensing and Suppression systems and components in the early 1970's.
