All children need to eat. For most children, eating is a fun and routine part of their day. But for some children, due to medical complications or oral-motor or sensory problems, the task of eating by mouth is problematic. Some feeding problems prevent children from eating enough to grow.

Founded in 1962 by five Bellevue-area mothers of children with disabilities, Kindering is the only early intervention center serving urban East King County. It is the largest intervention center in Washington State, one of the three largest centers in the nation, and notably the most comprehensive. At Kindering, infants and toddlers ages birth to three receive critical physical & occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, feeding therapy, special education and other early intervention programming, aimed at helping children with special needs reach developmental milestones.

We support both child and caregiver as they discover each other and journey through the child welfare system.
