King of Siam, Incorporated started as a family-owned Thai restaurant in Chicago, Illinois in1985. Our family members lived in the apartments above the restaurant and work their shifts in the restaurant. It was a great arrangement! No travel time and no meals to cook! This was one of the greatest times of our life. We sold the restaurant in 1988 to devote our time to research and develop our current product line. We re-started our current business in 1993. Our initial products were designed for restaurants and foodservice operators. Treasure Island in Chicago, Illinois and Sunset Food in Highland Park, Illinois were one of our first customers. They did wonderfully with Shrimp Pad Thai in their Deli Department. Their Grocery managers suggested that we pack our products for retail sale. We did. We hope that you will enjoy our version of Thai foods. We strive hard in developing the products and recipes to enable everyone with different level of cooking skills to enjoy Thai foods.
