Tom Hern has been riding, training and teaching in the equestrian industry for over thirty years. As a child he rode and competed successfully throughout Massachusetts, New England and along the East Coast. He trained with some of the nations most notable trainers and at the young age of twelve, he won the Rhode Island Equitation Finals. He is still to this date the youngest rider ever to win the event. Tom went on to compete throughout his junior years quite successfully at the state and national levels in the equitation, hunter and jumper rings. Tom graduated magna cum laude from Johnson and Wales University with a bachelors degree in Equine Business Management and became a licensed Massachusetts Riding Instructor while in college. Tom enjoys teaching and riding and continues to successfully show hunters and jumpers. Recently, Tom’s students have won circuit championships from the most prestigious horse show series including Horse Shows in the Sun (HITS) Ocala (Florida) and Saugerties (New York). As an active USEF "R" licensed course designer, Tom has designed courses for local and "A" rated horse shows; Fieldstone, SeaCoast Classics, Yankee Clipper Classics as well as regional finals including Massachusetts Hunter/Jumper (MHJ) Equitation, Hunter and Jumper Finals, Rhode Island Equitation Finals and Mass Horsemen's Council (MHC) Equitation Finals. Tom uses his skill and course building experience to prepare his riders for the challenges seen at the nations's major horse shows and finals. Nicky Graf Dressage Trainer, Professional Rider Nicky uses her expertise to train several dressage horses within the farm and to “cross-train” the farm’s hunter/jumper horses and their riders. Her experience in eventing gives her a unique advantage in teaching proper flatwork for hunters and jumpers. Her skill is instrumental in providing Kingsway’s horses and riders with excellent, balanced flat work so important in proper development of fit, happy equine athletes. She graduated cum laude from Johnson and Wales University, earning an A.S. in Equine Studies, and a B.S. in Equine Business Management. From 1992 – 2002 Nicky was based in England full time with British Team event rider Owen Moore. Nicky managed Owen’s competition stables and assisted in training horses, while competing successfully on her own Irish Thoroughbred, Nimbo, in dressage, show jumping and preliminary eventing at the National level. While there Nicky has also trained with four-time British Olympic Dressage Team member Carl Hester. Nicky has also been extremely successful on the Friesian circuit, claiming many top honors at the national level including High Point Champion at the 2005 Friesian Grand National Championships and three High-Point Champions at the 2006 NEFHC East Coast Championships. She trained 2006 USEF Horse of the Year Friesian Jr. Exhibitor Champion & Reserve Champion. Currently Nicky has dressage horses in training from First Level up through Prix St. Georges and continues to actively show throughout New England.
