Kinkaid Stone Company was formed in 1978 by William and Richard Pautler of Chester, Illinois. Originally, Kinkaid Stone Company focused on providing construction aggregate for the coal industry in Perry County, Illinois. When the decline in demand for Illinois coal hit in the early 1990's, Kinkaid Stone Company redirected its focus on providing high quality aggregate for the heavy highway, commercial and residential construction industries.
