We provide you with a stellar and well-researched curriculum for homeschools, co-op schools, and private schools.* With the help of our prestigious advisory board, we took the best of the educational material available and designed an excellent curriculum for you. Our unique program will save you precious hours in research; and you will not waste time or money using substandard programs, or buying unnecessary books and educational kits that you will never use. Our curriculum is presented in the form of a downloadable book list which is linked to our private Kinza Academy Amazon store. Your curriculum and support material will be emailed to you in the form of downloadable material and a link to our store, where purchasing the books is made simple. There are no materials sent from the Academy. This original model allows us to offer you an expensive program at a fraction of the cost, making a quality education affordable for all. You will be invited to join our Yahoo group where you will find support for your educational needs.

NABILA HANSON is an education reform activist; consultant for homeschools, co-op schools, and private schools; writer and public speaker. She is also the founder and director of Kinza Academy & Press. She graduated from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and much like Maria Montessori, a doctor turned educator, she began to work in education when she realized public education was failing our children and was possibly even harming them. Through the works of John Taylor Gatto, who was named "New York City Teacher of the Year" three times and is a figurehead for reform in education, she learned why this was so. Feeling compelled to do something, Ms. Hanson established Kinza Academy. The Academy was founded to offer an antidote to the 'dumbing-down' trend in public and private school curriculum by designing a curriculum that meets the emotional needs of the young child, while significantly raising the bar for his/her intellectual learning: the Kinza Academy curriculum. Her training in holistic medicine provided her with a unique perspective to deepen her understanding of the problems with modern education.

Western child-development psychologists have long understood that requiring children to perform academically at too early an age interferes with their emotional development. In Islamic thought, the heart is known to be the seat of the emotions and one is counseled to make one’s heart sound; the reward being Paradise.

LANGUAGE ARTS Spelling: Using an innovative approach to spelling, children will learn the different spelling rules and exceptions, using a program that is designed for independent study and that easily engages the child. Grammar: Sixth grade grammar builds on earlier topics such as complete subjects and complete predicates, compound sentences, action verbs and linking verbs, conjunctions, irregular verbs, past-tense verbs, negatives, commas, direct and indirect quotations, sentence diagramming and more. Writing: Using a "Benjamin Franklin" approach to learning to write clearly and beautifully, we incorporate a program that makes learning to write enjoyable for the child. Reading: Children will read and learn about the Egyptian Pharoahs, Greek heroes, Socrates, and more literature taken from the classics. Children will write book reports for the books they have read. There is also a book of poetry so children can continue memorizing poems, which is an excellent way to develop eloquence and improve memory skills. Penmanship: An Italics penmanship workbook that focuses on cursive writing, and improving the Italic style.
