When you’ve done your self-evaluation, it is time to draft your webdesign company mission statement.

Preliminary to writing a business plan, you’ll need a webdesign company mission statement. Your business mission statement should express exactly what you expect to do for clients who choose to hire you. It should also express your ultimate intention for your webdesign business. Of course that can change from year to year, but write your mission statement now, and re-evaluate each year when you re-write your business plan.

Example 4 – HTML/XHTML/CSS specialist: If you’re like me, and are basically good at HTML, XHTML, and CSS, then make those your core products. If your customers ask you to include SEO and content writing skills in a job, you can add these to your contract if you feel competent to complete the tasks well.

I have experience with being overextended, so I warn webdesigners, do not take on more than you can handle. At first it might seem like a great boon to your business to have five clients at once, but if you end up feeling stressed and over-worked, it is not that good at all.
