Klauser Marine is located just 1 mile from the beautiful shores of Lake Shelbyville. Klauser Marine is owned and operated by Dan & Jane Klauser. The Klausers take pride in their heritage, which started at Shelbyville, Illinois in 1856 when Dan's great-great grandfather, Christopher, started making shoes. In 1882 G.C. Klauser (Christopher's son) started a harness shop & shortly thereafter, took his brother Gus Klauser as partner, thus (Klauser Bros.). Ned Klauser (G.C.Klauser's son) took over 1929 and ran the business till 1955 when Bob Klauser took over. Bob was in the chain saw, canvas, & sporting goods business. In 1968 Bob got into the boat business as part of the sporting goods business. The boat business has expanded from a few fishing boats in the yard into one of the major dealerships in central Illinois. Dan and Jane purchased the business from Bob in 2003. It is no accident that the Klauser's have been in business 127 years. From day one they have provided customers with good old fashion sales & service and we are happy to say nothing has changed about that.
