In 1936, William H. Klingner joined the engineering firm of Bushnell and McCann, (founded in 1905 by Webster P. Bushnell in Quincy, Illinois). In 1949, the firm became W. H. Klingner and Associates, and later incorporated in 1985 as Klingner & Associates, P.C. In order to assist clientele in the Northeast Missouri region, the firm established a branch office in Hannibal, Missouri.

We provide cost-effective and comprehensive solutions based on our thorough knowledge of regulations and experience with similar projects. Our extensive experience allows us to guide our clients through sometimes complicated governmental requirements. We have professional personnel on staff, including engineers and geologists, who provide prompt services with a willingness to listen to and answer client questions. We maintain our own environmental equipment for quick response.

We provide design services from inception to completion for new construction, additions, alterations and renovations. We maintain close contact with our clients, especially during the initial phases when the project scope is established. Close coordination throughout the project promotes a facility that is exactly what our clients desire. Functional uses, site relationships, code stipulations, and budget is the basis for each building plan.

Klingner offers a wide range of professional services including civil engineering, environmental engineering and structural engineering, as well as architecture, planning, and land surveying and geotechnical/construction material testing services. These services are provided to meet the needs of individuals, industrial and commercial businesses, municipalities, and governmental agencies.

GIS or Geographic Information System, is a generally digital form of managing data that has a geographic location component. GIS is useful in planning and design as well is in operation and maintenance of facilities. We have been involved in GIS activities extending from simple mapping projects to providing expertise in the development of municipal and other local governmental GIS systems. We can employ GIS methods to develop accurate geospatial infrastructure data in a customized format to meet the special needs of each client.
