Hydraulic & Sanitary The collection, treatment, storage and distribution of fluids, both water and sewer, are a part of KSE's day-to-day design responsibilities. These include designing water and sewer systems, pump stations, sewage treatment plants, and water reservoirs. We have designed water distribution projects ranging from a hundreds of feet to a couple of miles with pipe sizes ranging from a couple of inches to a couple of feet in diameter. Site Plan Design Individual site plans, for use by commercial, industrial, retail, or community entities may include the following services: design surveys; land planning; preliminary and final platting; design of streets, water, sewer and storm drain systems; site grading; utility coordination; construction staking; construction administration and construction inspection. Street and Roadway Design The KSE team has provided design of streets and roadways in virtually every community in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Designs for major arterials, collectors and residential streets are abundant. KSE also has experience in A.D.O.T. highway design. The KSE team is capable of providing street horizontal and vertical alignment studies and design, design survey, street grading and drainage and utility conflict coordination. Storm Drainage & Flood Control KSE is capable of performing storm water quantifying and routing studies and design for areas as small as a residential lot or as large as necessary. Members of our team have experience in storm drain designs for watersheds in the range of 35 square miles. We are able to route runoff through a watershed using a combination of natural drains, open channels and pipe conduits while optimizing adjacent developable land. We do this using the Corp of Engineers HEC-I or SCS TR-20 computer models. We perform flood studies and sediment transfer studies using the HEC-II and HEC-VI computer models. Flood control includes the design of stream channelization, bank protection, dikes, levees, dams, retardation structures and retention or detention facilities. KSE team members performed the hydrology studies for City of Phoenix Planning Areas C & D, East Biscuit Flat and Deadman's Wash. Surveying KSE provides all types of surveys to serve all types of clients. Surveys range from land surveys to construction stakeout. KSE provides surveying information quickly and accurately by using our state-of-the-art equipment and cost-efficient data gathering methods. GPS systems as well as the traditional total station types of equipment are used. Data collected from the field is transferred to our PC's and plotter to generate the base maps that are to be the source of pending design. Types of surveys provided are American Land Title Association (ALTA), parcel boundary and division, construction stakeout, topographic, photogrammetric, right-of-way, and boundary retracement.
