Description
Hunting with Kodiak Guide Service Kodiak Guide Service hunts on native, corporation, state, federal and BLM lands that we secure permits for. These hunts are typically based from comfortable, if somewhat rustic cabins. Camps on Kodiak are access by boat or charter plane. Spike camps are used to access the more remote edges of guided areas. Daylight, weather and the game we’re seeing will dictate the amount of time we spend in a specific spike camp. Unless otherwise requested, all of our hunts are one-on-one, allowing us to focus in on the needs, interests, and capabilities of each hunter. Food is hearty, home cooked, meat and potatoes fare, but we’re glad to tailor a menu that suits your tastes or specific dietary needs, just make your preferences known. What’s Included Your hunt will include transportation from Kodiak Airports to and from camp. All lodging, meals, guides, meat and trophy care to the airport. Firearms, backpacks and sleeping bags can also be provided. What’s Not Included Hunting license and tag fees, cost of non-hunting companion, flight to and from Kodiak Island. Specific Equipment Needs We recommend Cy’s Sporting Goods located in Kodiak. Their knowledgeable staff can help you with everything from polar fleece to Pyrodex. Booking Your Flight The City of Kodiak is located on the second largest island in the United States, Kodiak Island, approximately 250 air miles southwest of Anchorage in the Gulf of Alaska. From Anchorage, it is approximately a 1- hour flight to Kodiak Island. Service is available on Alaska Airlines or ERA. You’ll find the schedules vary by season, but range from 4 to 8 flights daily. Booking Your Hunt When comparing one trip to another, remember, there are no hidden costs here. You arrive at the airport and Michael will take care of you till you get back. Plan to get up early and stay out late, finding game the old fashioned way. . .by hunting for it. Michael has successfully guided clients of all ages (16 to 72), while remaining accident-free his entire career. We’d be happy to provide you with pricing and a list of references at your request.
